Tuesday 23rd September 2025 7pm (Sixth Form Lecture) "ASTROCHEMISTRY: THE CHEMICAL COSMOS" Dr June McCombie, University of Nottingham. This should be an excellent lecture that not only helps students see links to the spectroscopic topics withing A-Level, but also to see some of the instrumentation on the James Webb space telescope that is in the news at the moment. Tuesday 4th November at 7:00pm (Sixth Form lecture) "CHEMICAL ENGINEERING OF CHOCOLATE" Professor Peter Fryer, University of Birmingham. This lecture will give you insight into the chemical engineering challenges associated with making a keeping good chocolate. Come to learn about the many crystal phases found in chocolate, and how the conditions during the making process affect the outcome.
